Shadow SH 950 Upright Bass Dual Pickup — Bridge-Mounted Piezo System

The Shadow SH 950 Upright Bass Dual Pickup is a passive bridge-mounted transducer system. Four piezo sensors — two opposing units on each side of the bridge — capture the deep, resonant voice of the bass whether plucked or bowed. Mounting between the wings and feet of the bridge, this model preserves the look.

What Sets the SH 950 Apart

Unlike piezo pickups, the SH 950 uses two opposing sensors per side of the bridge, compensating for the natural volume imbalance between the G and E strings. This dual-sensor arrangement produces a more even response across the instrument's range, eliminating the need for EQ adjustments. Passive circuit design means no batteries, no onboard preamp.

Sensor Configuration

The dual opposing-sensor layout compensates for the natural volume imbalance between strings. Two sensors per side capturing opposing vibrations even out the output naturally.
