Fender Pure Vintage '51 Telecaster Pickup Set — Period-Correct Tele Tone

This matched pair of single-coil pickups is wound to original 1951 specifications, reproducing the bright, twangy voice of Fender's earliest solidbody guitars. Players chasing authentic vintage Tele character without paying Custom Shop prices will find this set delivers tight low end, clear midrange, and shimmering highs.

Period-Correct Construction From Bobbin to Lead Wire

What separates the Fender Pure Vintage '51 Telecaster Pickup Set from generic Tele pickups is the attention to original-era materials. The bridge uses formvar-coated magnet wire while the neck uses enamel-coated wire — exactly the combination Fender specified in 1951. Both pickups sit on fiber bobbins with cloth-covered lead wire and are wax-potted to suppress microphonic squeal.

Alnico 3 Magnets — Sweet Mids, Tight Bass

Alnico 3 produces a warmer, sweeter midrange than the brighter Alnico 5 used in many modern Tele sets.

• Magnet Type: Alnico 3 — sweet midrange and tight bass
• Pole Pieces: Flush-mounted, non-staggered — even string-to-string response across all six strings
• The output is Vintage, which ensures the classic response players expect.

DC Resistance & Inductance

Slightly higher DC resistance on the neck pickup gives a fuller voice, while the bridge has higher inductance for cutting twang.

• DC Resistance (Neck): 7.8 kΩ
• DC Resistance (Bridge): 7.15 kΩ — brighter, more articulate bridge voice
• Inductance (Bridge): 3.9 H — pronounced twang and shimmer
